Tirta Empul, Monkey Forest and Goa Gajah

Visit Tirta Empul. This Hindu temple located in the village of Manukaya is dedicated to purification and its name means "sacred source" in Balinese. The waters of the pools come from the Pakerisan River and have the reputation of being purifying and magical.Dedicated to the gods Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma and Indra, Tirta Empul is considered one of Bali's most sacred temples. This is the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about the Hindu religion and thus understand the spiritual culture of the Balinese.Head to Ubud's famous Monkey Forest and meet the long-tail macaques! These monkeys live freely in this nature reserve and more specifically around the temple Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegai. Keep your belongings close, these monkeys can be cheeky !Visit the temple of Goa Gajah, which literally translates to "Cave of the Elephant". This religious sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reflects the perfect blend of Hindu and Buddhist culture. Do not worry, this intimidating character called "Boma" is not at the entrance of the temple to scare the faithful and the visitors but to dissuade the evil spirits from entering the site!

Balinese cooking class

DAY 4

Sunrise hike to Mount Batur

Early in the morning at around 3.00 am, you take the road to Mount Batur. You start the ascent before sunrise and climb to a height of more than 1700 meters above sea level. The trek lasts between 1h30 to 2h. You find yourself at the top of the volcano in time to watch the sun rise up above the clouds.Down below, you can see the outline of Lake Batur and in the distance, you spot the other volcanoes of Bali: Abang, Agung and Batukaru on the right. After a well-deserved break enjoying the sunrise, you start the trek down and meet your driver. If you still have energy, visit Pura Batur, and rest in the natural hot springs to regain your strength.

From Ubud to Sidemen

Visit Penglipuran Village, a beautiful highland village in the regency of Bangli in East Bali, best known for its well-preserved culture and village layout. Here, you can enter a traditional house and admire the classic set up of a Balinese house.

Gates of Heaven & Tirta Gangga water temple

Your driver will drive you to the site of Pura Lempuyang, an impressive temple complex from which the view of Mount Agung and the surrounding valley is splendid. The first temple is just a 5-minute walk from the car park. To reach the other temples you can follow the Balinese pilgrims and start a walk which lasts from 1h30 to 2h30. The gradients can be quite significant, the terrain is sometimes easy with steps and sometimes slippery. If you are lucky, you may have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in a magnificent setting.You continue to Tirta Gangga, a royal bathing complex that consists of tropical gardens, wading pools, fish ponds and fountains. Enjoy a peaceful moment in this cool retreat in the eastern highlands before continuing to your next stop.Visit the floating palace, located in the quiet and relaxing garden of Taman Sukasada. The park was designed as a resting and meditation place for the King of Karangasem. Take a stroll through the delightful complex which offers a combination of Balinese and European architecture.

From Sidemen to Gili Air

Today, you leave the lush greenery of Sidemen and drive towards the east of Bali to reach Padangbai Harbor.You leave Padangbai and reach Gili Air by fast boat.Please make your own way from the harbor in Gili Air to the hotel. You can walk or you can take a horse cart with additional costs.

Snorkeling around Gili Meno

You meet your captain and embark on a small wooden boat to explore the treasures of the Gili archipelago. You make a few stops at the best snorkelling spots to admire the multicolour corals and fish. If you are lucky you may also see some sea turtles that are numerous around the Gili islands.

DAY 10

Day at leisure on Gili Air

Spend your day lounging on white, sandy beaches and taking advantage of the rich snorkeling and diving spots. You can choose to explore this astonishing submarine wildlife on your own or ask the locals to take you on board a boat for a cruise around the three Gili islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air). You may even come across a turtle swimming elegantly not far from the shore.  If you're looking for land activties, why not walk or ride a bike around this tiny island (around 1h cycling and 2h walking) to take in the tropical atmosphere? After this breathtaking escape, settle down on a beanbag with your feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand and enjoy the stunning sunset. Forget about everything else and soak in the beauty of this little piece of paradise.
