DAY 2

Karangasem Exploration

After breakfast at your hotel, you'll be picked up by your guide and your tour will begin. To start with, explore the beautiful, less-visited Karangasem Regency. Begin with a visit to Taman Ujung, a beautifully restored royal palace known by the locals as the 'Water Palace', which is set in a pretty pond. The palace, which is reachable only by bridge, was built in the early 1900s and has distinct Dutch, Chinese and Balinese architectural influences.Afterwards, head to Tirta Gangga, another of Bali's impressive water palaces. The name Tirta Gangga literally translates to 'Water of the Ganges', which is a fitting name for this palace with its abundance of fountains, natural bathing pools and marine life. The Tirta Gangga was built during the same era as the Taman Ujung.Next up is lunch, and you're in for a real treat! You'll be dining on traditional Balinese cuisine at Bali Asli, one of Bali’s most renowned restaurants. After lunch, you'll have the choice of two activities:ACTIVITY 1:Embark on a 2-hour soft trek through the verdant rice fields and paddies to Tenganan, home of the Bali Aga people, the original inhabitants of Bali. When you reach Tenganan, you'll have plenty of time to explore and take in your surroundings.ACTIVITY 2:If you don't fancy the walk, simply relax on a stunning tropical beach, close to your hotel in Candidasa. A sunbed and fresh coconut will be provided for you – all you have to do is relax! When you've completed your chosen activity, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Candidasa, where you'll spend the night.
