About this photo
There are many elements to the traditional clothing in Peru. Firstly, the majority of clothes are still handmade; the people of Peru are known as craftsmen and this reflects in their colourful dress. Traditional outfits consist of ponchos, dresses or skirts for women, trousers for men, tunics and hats. The material used is thick for warmth in the cooler Andes villages.
