In 2016, Rome's iconic Colosseum unveiled its new spruced-up look to the world. Thanks to luxury brand Tod's, the façade got a multi-million-Euro makeover that removed decades of damage due to street pollution. The third tier has also reopened to the public, which provides a bird's eye view over the arena where gladiators once fought for their lives. The restoration of the Colosseum is ongoing and is now concentrating on the ground and underground floors where the lions and their unfortunate opponents were kept.
