About this photo
Located in Kao Sam Roi Yot National Park, the Phraya Nakhon Cave can be reached either by boat or by hiking along the 500-metre trail which starts at Laem Sala Beach; it is a steep climb but offers some beautiful scenery.
Light penetrates the Phraya Nakhon cave, which is split into two sections. The first offers pools of water, collected from the drips, stalagmites and stalactites – rock formations in the shape of icicles. The second holds the Kuha Karuhas Pavilion, a temple-like shrine.
