About this photo
Christmas markets are somewhat of a German speciality. They usually start the last weekend of November and run up to Christmas Eve. Expect to find all kinds of children's entertainment, tree decorations, food and mulled wine. Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt, hosts its own Christmas market in the town square with the historical town hall creating a dreamy background. Lights on the Ferris wheel light, the Christmas tree and the surrounding buildings create a cosy atmosphere in the mists of the cold winter nights.
