Dubai's malls

In a city where temperatures can reach uncomfortable highs, Dubai’s ultra-modern malls offer comfortable air-conditioned shopping, often amidst spectacular surroundings.

Best malls

Opening hours are generally daily 10am–10pm, and until midnight on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, though some are closed on Friday mornings. Prices are fixed.

For pure retail excess, the supersized Dubai Mall has by far the biggest selection of shops, while there are also shops galore at other major malls such as the Mall of the Emirates on Sheikh Zayed Road in Al Barsha, Festival Centre in Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall and Marina Mall in Dubai Marina, Wafi in Oud Metha, BurJuman in Bur Dubai, Deira City Centre in Garhoud and Mirdif City Centre in Mirdif. There are plenty of smaller malls too, including the exclusive Emirates Towers Boulevard and the chain of malls lining the northern end of Jumeira Road.

Shopping festivals

Dubai’s malls get particularly busy during the annual Dubai Shopping Festival (January–February), when shops across the city offer discounts and promotions, backed up by a lively programme of mall-based prize draws and entertainments. Dubai Summer Surprises (June–July) is another shopping-centred festival, with a similar range of discounts and in-mall entertainment designed to lure in punters during the hot summer months.
