Welcome to Tashkent

Welcome to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Your guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to your city hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the chosen activities today may change.

Sightseeing tour in Tashkent (full day)

Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you'll start your tour from the “Old town” of Tashkent, which has retained much of its charm. The iconic Khast Imam complex, where the tomb of the first Imam of Tashkent is located, will be visited as well as the Tilla-sheikh Mosque, Barak Khan Madrassa and Juma Mosque, which holds a library containing the remaining fragments of the world's first Osmanian Koran. Afterwards proceed to the Kukeldash Madrassa. Right before lunch, your guide will explain haggling and market techniques in one of the biggest bazaars of Uzbekistan: Chorsu. After your traditional lunch, you will head to the Independence Square, Amir Temur Square and the Museum of Applied Arts. Depending on your preferences and timings, you can also explore parks or other museums.

Tashkent – Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel.Transfer to the Railway station to take train tickets to Bukhara. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Leave your luggage and start a city tour.

DAY 2

Sightseeing tour in Bukhara

You will have a full day with your guide to discover Bukhara with its monuments and structures. Among others, visit Poi-Kalyan - translated to "Foot of the Great", consisting of three constructions built between the 12th-16th centuries: the madrasah, the mosque and the minaret. Followed by the madrasa of Ulug Beg (built in 1417) and Abdulaziz Khan (built in 1652) - the latter one marking the remarkable progress of medieval Central Asian architecture. Put your haggling skills at use at the Tim Abdullah Khan bazaar, built in 1577. Before lunch, visit the Magok-i Attari Mosque (today, Museum of Carpets), one of the oldest architectural monuments where you will find heathen shrines, the remains of a Buddhist monastery, a Zoroastrian temple in Bukhara.In the afternoon continue to explore the Laybi-Hauz with its three monumental religious buildings. In the late afternoon, return to your hotel.

DAY 3

Bukhara half day sightseeing - Samarkand (by train)

Start your day with your guide and driver and continue your sightseeing tour in Bukhara. Visit the summer residence of the last Bukhara emir – Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa. This is a unique building, the architecture combines oriental and Russian elements of décor. Continue to the mausoleum of Bakhouddin Naqshbandi – the founder of the Sufi and in the Necropolis of Chor-Bakr – known as “the city of dead”. Transfer to the railway station for high-speed train (16:00 pm / 18:40 pm) and upon arrival in Samarkand you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

DAY 3-5

Samarkand

DAY 4

Sightseeing tour in Samarkand

Breakfast in the hotel. Meet with a local guide and driver at the hotel lobby to start city tour. Sightseeing tour in Samarkand. Samarkand is called “Rome of East”. Visit spectacular Registan Square – the heart of Samarkand remains of Bibi Khanum Mosque, colorful local bazaar Siab, Ulugbek Observatory. Continue sightseeing tour and visit Shakhi- Zinda Necropolis and Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the final resting place of the Turco-Mongol emperor, Timur. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.

Kochkor

Arrival to Bishkek & Transfer to Kochkor

Arrival to Bishkek at 9:15am. You will meet your Kyrgyz guide and driver at the airport for your transfer to Kochkor. Kochkor's former names include Stolypin and Kochkorka. The city is now home to artisans who specialize in traditional Kyrgyz art and who revive the traditions of the region and make sustainable souvenirs. It has become particularly famous for its shyrdaks and felt carpets, which are made in workshops around the city. On the way, we will stop close to Tokmok town (60 km) to visit the Burana Tower, a place on the Great Silk Road dated in the 11th century. Burana Tower stands about 10 km to the south of Tokmok and is all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun. Though experts say that the tower was originally a minaret that stood twice as tall as it does today, Kyrgyz legends have another version of the story. We will visit the tower and museum on the territory so you can find out more about the history. After on, we will continue our trip to Kochkor. Before dinner, we will visit women cooperative producing typical Kyrgyz felt carpets, which call “Shiyrdak’” and “Ala Kiiz”, where you can make your own small carpet.

DAY 7

Kochkor – Kyzyl Tuu – Skazka Canyon – Tamga

After breakfast we will continue our trip to Issyk – Kul along the southern shore. Issyk Kul is the second largest mountain lake in the world after Titicaca Lake in South America. Issyk Kul translates to warm lake, as it doesn't freeze in winter due to it being a salty lake. Its length is 200km and width 60km, with the deepest place at 730m. Pay a visit to Kyzyl Tuu village, here you can see how the wooden parts of the yurts (dwelling house of nomad people) are made, and even test it with your own hands. Continue your way until your stop at fairytale canyon. After Tosor village towards Terskey Ala-Too mountainsyou will notice how the mountains part, as if by the wave of a magic wand -  you're now in the valley of fairytales. In Russian, the word Skazka means “fairytale” and the place is certainly a magical place, full of mystery and mysticism, sufficient to stimulate the imagination of those with the inclination to stand, and stare, and wonder. Finally, we will reach the yurt camp near the shore of the lake, where dinner will be served and you spend your first night in a yurt, feeling yourself like a nomad.

Tamga

Tamga – Jety Oguz – Karakol

After breakfast, hit the road to Jety-Oguz gorge. This place is famous for its red rock formations in the form of the Broken Heart and Seven Bulls. Jety-Oguz even translates  «Seven Bulls». Local people tell a lot of legends about this place, your guide will tell you a few of them. Enjoy the beautiful mountain views and fresh air and go for a quick walk before heading back to the car and continue your drive to Karakol. Upon arrival, discover Karakol with a city tour, visiting the Russian Orthodox wooden church, the Muslim Mosque built in a unique Chinese Style, the central park, a handicraft shop and the Museum of Prjevalsky, the Russian explorer of Central Asia areas. In the evening, enjoy a dinner at a local Uigur family (Uigurs are Chinese Muslims).

Karakol

Karakol – Bishkek along the Issyk-Kul Lake

After breakfast continue to Bishkek along the northern shore of Issyk – Kul Lake. There's an optional visit to the Ruh – Ordo Complex in Cholpon – Ata or do an hour-long cruise on the Lake. The transfer includes a visit to the Open Air Museum of Petrogliphs. This museum, sometimes referred as a Stone Garden, covers some 42 hectares and contains a number of prehistoric monumental structures (stone circles, tombs, the remains of a boundary stone wall, balbals) and Petroglyphs (dating from the II millennium BC up to the Middle Ages up to the VI century AD). Upon arrival to Bishkek, city tour with visiting of Victory Square - memorial for the fallen in WWII; Statue of Kurmandshan Datka - legendary fighter against the Russian occupation in 1862 - 1876. Her portrait is also on 50-Som bill figured; Alatoo Square - official holidays are held with parades in front of representative facades of government buildings; Panfilov Park - under shady trees children will find a variety of attractive amusements; Monument to Manas the Great, on horseback - first encounter with the country's most important historical figure, which is also the name of the Kyrgyz airline Air Manas; Osch- bazaar - it offers not only decorative goods of all kinds but also corresponding photo opportunities. Bishkek Sightseeing tour (half-day)

Discover Bishkek on a city tour by visiting the Victory Square - memorial for the fallen in WWII;  the statue of Kurmandshan Datka - a legendary fighter against the Russian occupation in 1862 - 1876. Her portrait is also on 50-Som bill figured; Continue to Alatoo Square - official holidays are held with parades in front of representative facades of government buildings. Afterwards proceed to the Monument to Manas the Great on horseback - first encounter with the country's most important historical figure, which is also the name of the Kyrgyz airline Air Manas. Before returning to your hotel, pay a visit to Osch- bazaar - it doesn't just offer decorative goods of all kinds but also corresponding photo opportunities.
