DAY 2

Lisbon Old Town

You´ll visit most of the old town of Lisbon, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in the world! You’ll have the chance to walk its narrow and hilly streets, its tiled sidewalks, visit its monuments, enjoy the view from its famous viewpoints and taste the delicious local gastronomy.You’ll also visit the Belem quarter famous for its monuments from the age of the Portuguese Discoveries and for one of the most renowned Portuguese delicacies, the pastel (pastry) de Belém.

DAY 3

Cascais and Sintra

You’ll visit Cascais/Estoril two seaside villages in the surroundings of Lisbon, world-famous for having been a resort of the Portuguese and European aristocracy and even royalty in different times of History. You’ll then visit Sintra, a historical village set in a small but luxuriant mountain boasting the title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll lose count of the palaces, manor houses and palatial houses dispersed all over this place. On the way, you’ll be able to pass by Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe.

DAY 4

Lisbon - Óbidos - Nazaré - Batalha - Aveiro - Porto

Today you'll leave Lisbon and head to Porto.The first stop will be in Óbidos, a historical middle age fortified village with picturesque houses and streets known as the village of the queens. Take at least two hours to visit the village, walk its streets, climb and walk on the walls and try the local Ginginha, a sour cherry liquor often drank in a chocolate cup.Then as go further north you'll have the option to visit some of the following places (or all if you're very fast!!): - Nazaré, a small fishermen village, and a great place to eat fresh grilled fish. Maybe the right place to have lunch! Nazaré has also become famous for being home to a Christian sanctuary and more recently for hosting the highest waves ever surfed in the world. - Batalha where the highlight is its 14th-century Monastery, a masterpiece of Portuguese Gothic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. - Aveiro, a picturesque city developed inside a river delta, where streets, bridges and canals intertwine. Some people call it the Portuguese Venice. Here you will also have a chance to taste the famous local sweet “ovos moles”.

Porto with Port wine cellars

Add a world-famous sweet wine and a certain British flavour, place it in a historic environment all by a grand river, and you have "O Porto," the port, Porto -Portugal's second-largest city, and one of Europe's most charismatic cities.In its city centre, you'll visit monuments by leading world architects from the past and the present, including some fantastic baroque carvings.In the afternoon you can have a guided tour of the cellars “Casa Ferreirinha" from the Douro, producer of the famous "Barca Velha" and some famous Port wines, with wine tasting. Caves Ferreira recently received the "Best of Wine Tourism Award".

Porto to Guimarães and on to Douro Valley

Visit Guimarães in the morningGuimarães is a small city, 45 minutes from Porto, whose medieval town centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and which is considered to be the cradle of the Portuguese Nation and place of birth of its first king.Head to the Douro Valley in the afternoonDouro Valley is a beautiful and dramatic landscape where vines cling to terraces carved by hand into the steep, rocky hillsides aligned along the river.It’s from the grapes that grow here that Portugal’s legendary Port wine is produced.Along the way, especially in the area between Pinhão and Régua, you’ll be able to visit Quintas (estates/vineyard farms) where grapes are grown and where wine tasting is normally available.
