Sante Fe travel guide

Founded by the Spanish in 1610, Santa Fe is the capital city of New Mexico and the oldest capital in the US. In the historic town center, rosy adobe buildings and shady arcades evoke the frontier past, as keen-eyed shoppers browse the galleries and boutiques.

The Plaza of Old Santa Fe

Old Santa Fe centers on the Plaza, where San Francisco Street and Lincoln Avenue intersect. It’s always busy, but especially so in the summer when concerts pop up in the bandstand. On its north side sits the Palace of the Governors; in the palace’s arcade, Pueblo artisans sell jewelry and crafts.
